Bridge Across the Broads

OA have recently submitted an entry to the Acle Bridge Design Competition, located within the Norfolk Broads. The design intent was to create a series of small buildings along an elevated walkway, creating small insertions into the landscape. The design principles focused on:

• Human Scale: Break down the massing
• The Edge: Connection to the landscape
• Resilience: Future-proof for changing conditions
• Capture the landscape: Framing views
• Unifying Element: An elevated aspect to the landscape, whilst ensuring that all buildings are accessible during a flooding event
