Grade II Listed House Refurbishment & Extension

OA have been granted Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission by Torbay Council to refurbish and extend a Grade II listed house in Brixham. The house, originally design by Mervyn Seal in 1960-63, is a good example of English modern domestic architecture.

Our proposal is a single storey rear extension and refurbishment works to the existing house. The site context has been a key driver for our design proposal. We believe that the character and integrity of the existing listed building had to be preserved and respected, therefore our proposed extension has incorporated a sloping roof which had followed the same angle as the existing house. The proposed horizontal timber cladding is also in keeping with the existing external materials.
