New Look Banbury Museum
The new Pye Gallery at Banbury Museum opened recently with the stunning Pop Art in Print exhibition featuring seminal pieces from the Victoria and Albert Museum’s collection.
Oxford Architects designed and contract administered the refurbishment. The project included the reconfiguration of the reception spaces and access to the first floor Museum allowing two galleries on the ground floor to be combined to form a much larger temporary exhibition space suitable for accommodating touring exhibitions from national museums and galleries. Oxford Architect’s graphic designer, David Low, created the eye catching building graphics using a combination of vinyl wraps, light boxes and acrylic lettering. The fast track construction work was carried out to a very high standard thanks to the Museum’s client team, project manager, Jane Bowen, cost managers McBains, CBG Consultants, Solid Structures, contractors Inside Out and graphic installation by MX Display.
