Cotswold Pool House

Nestled within the grounds of a private Cotswold estate, Cotswold Pool House is a refined contemporary intervention, designed to harmonise with the traditional garden landscape while offering a discreet yet luxurious retreat. Read as part of a series dry-stone walls that mirror local vernacular, the pool house is revealed gradually through a series of discrete openings.

The design prioritises material integrity and craftsmanship, ensuring a seamless relationship between architecture and landscape. A planted roof, featuring a mix of wild meadow flowers, enhances biodiversity while subtly embedding the pool house into its setting. This approach not only reinforces the estate’s connection to the Cotswold countryside but also encourages key pollinators, supporting the local ecosystem.

Internally, the space is designed to balance understated luxury with functionality, providing a bespoke wellness environment that complements the main residence. Through careful detailing and a restrained material palette, the project achieves a sense of timeless elegance, offering a contemporary architectural expression that remains firmly rooted in its historic setting.
